About
The concept of a festival jointly led by violists Nobuko Imai and Macarena Pesutic was conceived eight years ago in the Canary Islands. The Canarian Conservatory of Music in Tenerife and the Auditorio de Tenerife, both featuring excellent facilities and a state-of-the-art auditorium, provide an inspiring environment for music-making, with stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean.
With the goal of promoting innovative musical concepts and enriching the cultural landscape of the Canary Islands, Tenerife Viola Masterclass, Asociación Cultural Resonancias and Auditorio de Tenerife are now accepting applications for the Tenerife International Viola Competition 2025.
On November 18, 19, and 20, 2025, candidates selected for the first and final rounds of the competition will have the unique opportunity—at no additional cost—to attend masterclasses with jury members and receive coaching from Javier Lanis and Minze Kim, the official pianists of the festival. Furthermore, Kiyoko van Bochove will offer one-on-one coaching sessions tailored to each musician’s artistic and personal growth. She will also lead a workshop focused on essential skills to strengthen participants’ artistic expression and confidence.

El concepto de un festival codirigido por Nobuko Imai y Macarena Pesutic, dedicado a la viola, fue concebido hace ocho años en las Islas Canarias. Con una infraestructura de primer nivel y excelentes salas de conciertos, el Conservatorio Superior de Música de Canarias en Tenerife y el Auditorio de Tenerife ofrecen un entorno ideal para la creación musical, enmarcado por la belleza de la isla y sus vistas al océano Atlántico.
Con el objetivo de promover conceptos musicales innovadores y enriquecer la oferta cultural de las Islas Canarias, Tenerife Viola Masterclass, la Asociación Cultural Resonancias y el Auditorio de Tenerife anuncian la apertura de la convocatoria para el Tenerife International Viola Competition 2025.
Los días 18, 19 y 20 de noviembre de 2025, los candidatos seleccionados para la primera y la última ronda del concurso tendrán la oportunidad única -sin coste adicional- de asistir a clases magistrales con los miembros del jurado y recibir coaching de Javier Lanis y Minze Kim, pianistas oficiales del festival. Además, Kiyoko van Bochove ofrecerá sesiones individuales de coaching adaptadas al crecimiento artístico y personal de cada músico. También dirigirá un taller centrado en las habilidades esenciales para reforzar la expresión artística y la confianza de los participantes.
